Dear Parents,
Winter break means a well-deserved reprieve from homework and daily obligations. But before you know it, the holidays will be over and it will be back to school. To prepare for a smooth re-entry and a successful second semester, don't let school skills like reading, writing, and math slide completely during winter break. Try these family-friendly activities to keep skills sharp:
School resumes on Monday, January 7. We will be taking our MAPS Math Assessment on Thursday, January 10 and our MAPS Reading Assessment on Tuesday, January 15. This test is required by the State of Nevada and is part of the Read By Grade Three Law (SB391). Please help your child by completing some of these activities to help keep their reading, writing, and math skills sharp over Winter Break. Happy Holidays, Mrs. Baugh Today your child is coming home with a backpack and book. These items were donated to our class by Reading is Fundamental (RIF.org) and Panda Express. RIF believes every child deserves an opportunity to own books, learn how to read, and obtain the fundamental building blocks to achieve their highest potential. Literacy opens doors and enables every child the chance to live their own journey. We hope that you and your child enjoy their new book.
