Congratulations to Rosabel for being our Mountain Lion of the Month for April. Rosabel has been showing Nate Mack Pride even while she is at home. She is completing her At Home/Distance Learning activities and challenging herself by read chapter books. Keep up the good work Rosabel! I am so proud of you!

Contest #1-Be the one student from your grade level to show the most GROWTH in points from last week to this week (as tracked by AR) between Monday, April 27 at 6 am and Sunday, May 3 at 9 pm with an average score of 80% or higher. Winners will be announced on Monday. Students will earn a special prize and a sign delivered to your door.
Contest #2-Reading Emoji Pictionary- Guess the title of the book by using the emojis. Earn a ticket into the raffle for every 5 titles you get correct. Send an email to Ms. Juliano ([email protected]) with your answers by Sunday, April 26 at 9:00pm. Be sure you put the number next to the title so I know which one you are guessing. There will be one winner from each grade level. The winners will be drawn from all of the correct raffle tickets. The winners will receive a special prize delivered to your door. See Mrs. Heavey's email for the Reading Emoji Pictionary game board. Good Luck Students! Monday - Would you want to spend the night at the zoo? Why or why not?

Friday - What's your favorite day of the week? The last day to take AR tests to earn points towards the AR Medal is Friday, May 1. AR test can be taken from home. Students can use books that they have at home, books from MyOn, Storyline Online, or Book Flix.
The First Grade AR Goal for the school year is 30 AR points with a passing rate of 80% or higher. Today we have 16 students who have reached this goal. The 4th quarter AR Goal is 8 points with a passing rate of 80% or higher. Today we have 14 students who have reached this goal. You can check your child's progress by logging into Home Connect (located on the Nate Mack website - Student Hub - Home Connect). The username and password is the same as your child's AR username and password. Keep reading and taking those AR tests. Congratulations to Haylee for being our Mountain Lion of the Month for March. Haylee has been working really hard to earn her AR points and reach her goal. When we were in school, Haylee would take a book home every night and read it 3 times and come to school prepared to take an AR test everyday. She has continued to work on her AR at home by reading and taking AR tests. Congratulations Haylee for your perseverance in reaching your AR Goal!!

This weeks AR Contest are: Contest #1-Be the one student from your grade level to read the most words (as tracked by AR) between Monday, April 20 at 6 am and Sunday, April 26 at 9 pm with an average score of 80% or higher. Winners will be announced on Monday. Students will earn a special prize and a sign delivered to your door. Contest #2-Reading Bingo- Earn a ticket into the raffle for every vertical, horizontal, or diagonal bingo you achieve. Send an email to Ms. Juliano ([email protected]) when you get a bingo, telling what squares you’ve marked off and how (pictures encouraged!) by Sunday, April 26 at 9:00pm. There will be one winner from each grade level. The winner will be drawn from all of the tickets for correct bingos. The winners will receive a special prize delivered to your door. Parents, we will take your "parent word" if you are unable to send a picture. Remember the goal is to encourage reading! Example: I read Green Eggs and Ham while I ate a snack of a hard boiled egg Just a reminder that students are able to take AR tests from home.
