It is very important for your child to continue to read and write over the break. I am sending home a Spring Break Reading Challenge today as an extra incentive to help encourage your child to read. They need to complete 4 activities on the Challenge paper and return it to school on Tuesday, April 3 for a special prize. Please encourage them to complete the Challenge. .

Field Day is Friday, March 23. It starts at 8:15 AM. The students will be participating in different games throughout the morning. We need volunteers to help run the games. Students should dress appropriately for the weather. Wear tennis shoes and their purple PE shirt or a purple shirt. Please apply sunscreen before coming to school. Students may bring a towel or a change of clothes because some of the activities have water.
Our field trip to the Smith Center to see the play Mr. Popper’s Penguin is this Tuesday, March 13, 2018.
The bus will leave school at 9:00 AM and return by 12:00 PM. We will be having a late lunch at Nate Mack when we return. Please have your child bring a sack lunch to school. Please have your child “dress up” for this special event at the Smith Center, while keeping in mind CCSD’s dress code. The chaperones for the filed trip will be Mr. Shino (Colton's dad) and Mrs. Pease-Byron (Helen's mom). Student Council is sponsoring a Spirit Day at Nate Mack. March 16 is Twin Day. Find a friend to dress alike. If you can't find a friend, Mrs. Baugh will be wearing her purple PE shirt and you can wear your PE shirt to be her twin.
This week we are learning about MyPlate and making good decisions when we eat. We are also learning about being physically active for 60 minutes a day to help us stay healthy. Please help your child track how they compare with the daily recommendations for good health. They only need to track their eating and activity Monday - Sunday. If they return the chart to school on Monday, March 19 they will receive a healthy treat.
Here is a good website to help promote healthy eating with your kids.
