Scootpad assignments are posted on Monday and are due on Sunday. I have posted Math and Reading standards that we would normally be working on at school at this time. I have also posted a Math video to demonstrate adding tens and ones with regrouping. As we continue to work on adding two digit numbers with regrouping, please encourage your child to solve the math problems using this strategy for regrouping. This week in Math we will be learning Geometry and understanding shapes. I have posted some video lessons to help. Here is a list of important vocabulary words: corner – a point were two or more lines meet hexagon – a shape with 6 sides and 6 corners rectangle – a shape wit 4 sides and 4 square corners that has opposite sides the same length rhombus – a shape with 4 sides and 4 corners that has all sides the same length side – a line segment that is part os a shape square – a shape with 4 sides and 4 square corners that has all sides the same length trapezoid – a quadrilateral with at least one pair of parallel sides triangle - a shape with 3 sides and 3 corners Please continue to read daily. If you do not have any books at home, go to MyOn or Storyline Online. You can use the books that you read from MyOn and Storyline Online to take AR tests. Ms. Juliano is having an AR contest. You could be the next winner this week. For Science go to PebbleGo and learn about the parts of a plant. Draw a picture of a plant and label all of the parts.(roots, stem, leaf, flower, seed). Be sure to send me a picture of your plant. I have included some books on Myon in the projects that you can read and take AR test on. I will continue to post a daily writing prompt. Remember to use capitals, spacing, and punctuation. Have a great week of learning with your family! Don't forget the Nate Mack website has lots of suggestions to keep you busy and engaged everyday.
